Гора Блю | | Гора Блю, по-английски Blue Mountain - это незначительная возвышенность, расположенная в северных средних широтах западного полушария, в точке с координатами 47.954841° северной широты, 123.259563° западной долготы. С точки зрения географического расположения вершина характеризуется следующим образом: Северная Америка, Тихоокеанские хребты, Olympic Mountains. С административной точки зрения у вершины следующее расположение: США, штат Вашингтон.
Высота горы одна тысяча восемьсот тридцать один метр, или шесть тысяч семь футов. Высокий сезон для восхождений приходится на Январь, Февраль, Март, Апрель, Май, Июнь, Июль, Август, Сентябрь, Октябрь. Восхождение на такую вершину как Гора Блю доступно любому человеку и для этого ему не потребуется ни специальная физическая, ни техническая подготовка. Для подъема существует несколько маршрутов, практически не отличающихся по сложности. The mountain is easily seen from Highway 101 in the vicinity of Port Angeles and Sequim. The rock is of the sedimentary Blue Mountain Formation, which is a departure from the basaltic rock that is typical of many peaks in this part of the range. In the summer, a 18 mile road leads to within a quarter mile of the summit, leaving only 170 feet of elevation to walk up to the gently rounded bald summit, thereby making this a good choice for families with young children. However, in the winter the road is gated due to snow closure, and Blue Mountain becomes more challenging as a paradise for ski touring and snowshoe enthusiasts seeking solitude. (Check avalanche conditions) From the summit, the stunning panorama sweeps across the Straight of Juan de Fuca to views of Vancouver Island, Victoria, Mount Baker, the Gray Wolf Ridge and Needles, interior peaks of the park, and Mount Angeles. There is camping available at Deer Park a mile below the summit, which allows opportunities to watch sunrises and sunsets from the summit. Expect to encounter wildlife here such as deer. Directions: From Highway 101 on the eastern limits of the town of Port Angeles, locate the signed Deer Park Road (near a cinema). This road is paved for the first 9 miles up to the park boundary, and then becomes a narrow and sometimes steep gravel road. At 17 miles from 101, reach Deer Park Ranger Station, elevation 5233 feet. Another mile up, the road ends, and then a 0.5 mile loop trail leads to the summit.
