Бен Ломонд | | Бен Ломонд, по-английски Ben Lomond. С точки зрения географического расположения вершина характеризуется следующим образом: Евразия (Европа), Великобритания, Ирландия, Исландия, Scottish Highlands. С точки зрения административного деления вершина относится к следующим странам: Великобритания.
Вершина находится на уровне девятьсот семьдесят четыре метра, или три тысячи сто девяносто пять футов. С точки зрения погодных условий восхождение на вершину лучше всего планировать на Август, Сентябрь. Восхождение на такую вершину как Бен Ломонд доступно любому человеку и для этого ему не потребуется ни специальная физическая, ни техническая подготовка. Для успешного восхождения вам скорее понадобится термос и бутерброды, чем технические навыки или приспособления. Although the mountain, from many angles appears to be quite pointed, the summit is in fact a short level ridge curving round the head of the north east corrie. Southwards the mountain throws out a broad grassy ridge towards the forest above Rowardennan, and this part of the mountain, above the forest, is National Trust for Scotland territory. To the north, an extensive tract of featureless moorland extends towards Loch Arklet, and to the west, below the outlying spur called Ptarmigan, the Ben drops steeply in grand wooded crags to Loch Lomond. The 'tourist route' starts at Rowardennan Hotel or alternitivly at the car park at the end of the public road just beyond the hotel. A broad path leads NorthEast through the forest to emerge onto the grassy lower slopes of the south ridge. The path continues up to the level middle part of this ridge and north along its broad crest, giving delightfully easy walking. In due course, the steeper cone of the summit is reached, and the path zig zags up the stony hillside, bearing towards the NorthEast to reach the summit ridge, which is followed NorthWest over a few small bumps to reach the top. | | |
